Beacon Morris Garage Heater Installation Manual
Problem: Your furnace will not ignite the gas to produce heat for your home. When a furnace has a bad ignitor what I see most of the time is the following sequence of operation: 1. Thermostat calls for heat. Draft inducer motor starts. Pressure switch attached by a small plastic or rubber tube senses the negative pressure produced by the draft inducer and closes.
Dec 17, 2012 I have a ceiling mount garage heater and would like to run the vent 90° out the back pointing down to the floor then run about 18 inches down then a.
Draft inducer runs for 30 seconds to a minute before you hear a gas hissing sound. The ignitor did not glow, the flame sensor (a small metal probe about 1/8' in diameter, with a white porcelain base) does not sense the flame, so after 8 to 10 seconds the hissing sounds stops with no ignition of gas to heat your home. Your furnace shuts down and goes into a lock out condition until you turn your power switch back off and on again. Then the sequence starts all over again with no ignition of the gas. Solution: You probably need to purchase and install a new ignitor.
I would suggest that you inspect your ignitor closely for cracks. Make sure you do not touch the ignitor with your bare hands. If you do not visually see a crack, then you could have a furnace control board problem or a limit, rollout switch problem. I have the same problem with a 5 or 6 year old Beacon Morris Brut. I had it installed in a garage but never use it. Today I decided to turn it on and it wouldn't light.
I talked to the installer and he suggested bleeding out the natural gas so I did that right up to and inside the unit. It managed to light once after I set the thermostat to 90 and had the little allen bleeder screws loose. It hasn't worked again though. The fan comes on to evacuate the heater and the electric igniters come on but no gas is coming through the control valve.
This heater has had zero use. The igniters attempt to light three times and then the unit shuts off and it won't try again until it has set with the power to it turned off for a bit. Very frustrating.
Is this some sort of chronic problem for this heater? Now my Beacon Morris garage heater won't stay lit. It fires and lights, stays lit for a few seconds then shuts off. Starts again, fires, stays lit for a few seconds and then shuts off.
Over and over. Talked to a tech at Beacon Morris, he gave me a few things to check and then determined I had a bad control board. Couldn't order it direct from him so went to Menards and place a special order that took 3 weeks to come in. Installed it today and same exact issue Download Smog Discography Rare. !!!
Start, burn, shut off, over and over. Any help would be appreciated.
