I've installed ImgBurn as I've got completely tired of Roxio Creator, but unfortunately, the first disc image I want to burn doesn't work. I also get an application error window appear that has a scsi error of 0x02 - check condition - whatever that means. Here is the log: I 00:57:12 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started! Your burner doesn't like the blanks you're using. You could try burning at 2.4x, but it would be better if you used Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden blanks. Nah, its not the media, I get perfect burns at 4x with Roxio and it also works at 4x with MagicISO and Vista's own burning feature. I burnt the image with MagicISO using the same disc as ImgBurn refused to write to and it worked OK. I suspect ImgBurn doesn't understand the responses from the drive. I suppose its a question of waiting for the drive to be added - might be a long wait as there probably weren't that many people taking up the £500 premium for BD-RE on their XPS.

Either the firmware is intentionally limiting the drive to 4x because the media is crap or the MID isn't in the firmware at all and the drive is using some default (useless) write strategy for it. I bet if you actually tried some *decent* other discs that it would work just fine. Strange ImgBurn refuses to write to the DataWrite discs even at 2.4x - oh well, I know know, don't I!!! I broke into a keg of Verbatim discs (I'm still halfway through a keg of 100 DataWrite discs) and ImgBurn works, log below: I 16:43:26 ImgBurn Version 2.5.0.0 started!
